SportsMX’s own weight-loss project, Scale Crusher 2012, is getting ready to host its second annual competition. A poll was recently conducted to determine which three out of eleven candidate cities would have the opportunity to host their local Scale Crusher teams.
With that being said, we are excited to announce the three cities that earned the most votes: Rochester, New York; Denver, Colorado; and Clearwater, Florida. There will be a personal trainer working with contestants in each city: Scott Lipitz for Rochester, Lori Hilary for Clearwater, and Kelly Gibbs for Denver. Eleven candidate cities were selected based on the availability of deaf and ASL-fluent certified personal trainers.
Scale Crusher 2012 try-outs will begin in March 2012 and the weigh-ins will begin in April. The competition, with a brand-new format, will last for twelve weeks, ending in July. The contestants from three cities will participate in this competition by weighing in every Saturday morning for twelve weeks with their team coach. Try-out locations will be announced soon. Eligible contestants should be at least thirty pounds overweight.
This is a competition for the contestants to have fun and be able to lose weight! Scale Crusher 2012, a project undertaken by SportsMX is getting ready to host their second annual weight loss competition. Sharon Ann Dror has been selected to be the Scale Crusher Program Director for 2012. She grew up as a competitive ice figure skater for 14 years.
As one who has struggled with obesity, dieting, exercising, and going through yo-yo syndrome for over 20 years after having three children via C-sections. She tried all kinds of diet programs including Lindora Clinic and different pills like Phen-Fen, & Alli. She would lose some pounds and eventually gained it all back and sometimes even more. Sharon was a contestant for Scale Crusher Team Los Angeles 2011 and has been, along with her husband’s support, leading a healthier lifestyle with food, workouts and home environment.
Scale Crusher 2012 try outs will begin in March, 2012 and there will be a poll to determine the three cities to host their local Scale Crusher team and begin weigh-ins in April to June for 12 weeks with a brand new format. The contestants from three cities will participate in this competition by weighing in every Saturday mornings for 12 weeks with their Team Coach.
People from all over the world will be able to watch their progress weekly on the SportsMX website. The grand finale will be shown via live streaming which is a new technology trend for fans to watch deaf events on SportsMX's website. Their concept is to be a live-based for live streaming, not a national event to attend.

With the Scale Crusher competition underway, a fan page for people to share stories about their struggles and success on weight loss and fitness is now available. Contestants in the Scale Crusher competition will be chronicling their journey of weight loss and fitness. Fans of this competition can also make comments, root for their favorite contestant, vote in polls, and more.
