USADVShepard senior Bryan Leyden has been facing challenges since the day he was born with moderate-to-severe hearing loss.

It hasn't stopped him from making friends. Playing music. Excelling in volleyball.

The challenge that awaits Leyden this summer will be his biggest.

The Crestwood native has been selected as a member of the U.S. men's volleyball team that will be competing in the 2017 Summer Deaflympics. The games take place from July 18-30 in Samsun, Turkey.
