Melbourne City of Australia captured the first ever Asia Pacific Cup championship by defeating Taipei Deaf Sports Club, 64-61. The 1st Asia Pacific Cup tournament hosted by Deaf International Basketball Federation (DIBF) was held at at Manila, Philippines and had five teams.
