Maryland ran out of the gates with a 9-2 lead by 5:00 mark in first quarter but all of the sudden went cold after 3:00 mark. The margin was 11-6. Fremont went ahead very slowly through the halftime (19-11) and were up by 13, 24-11 in third quarter before Mia Goldberg got on the board for Maryland. It ended a 18-0 run for Fremont. All of the sudden it was Tarja and Tessa Lewis show as Maryland went up to 34-29 in the fourth (through 23-5 run). However,  Tessa made a crucial mistake and got technical then fouled out. Adele Daniels of Fremont took the advantage and shot all of her six free throws in the process to win, 41-37. Tarja and Tessa Lewis scored 15 and 11 respectively for Maryland. Daniels dominated the paint with 20 points and 7 rebounds to pace Fremont.
