CSD comes up short in BCL finals

      CSD- 2  Fremont Christian- 8

The CSD Eagles played strong against the number one seed, Fremont Christian Warriors on Thursday during the BCL League Finals but came up short.  Before the start of the bottom of the fourth inning, the game was tied.  This is a totally different game than was in the past.  The Eagles and Warriors have met three times earlier in the season with the Warriors averaging 17 points per game while the Eagles only averaged two.  Also the games lasted only an average of four innings.  This is the first time that the Eagles defense held the Warriors to single digit runs and made them work all seven innings to gain their victory.

At the end of the game, Coach Coffey from the Fremont Christian Warriors said that the CSD Eagles had them scared.  “This is the best I have seen them play all season, they looked really good and we were scared.”

The Warriors now have an automatic entry into the Division V NCS Baseball Tournament as Champions of the BCL League.  And for the Eagles, their baseball season is finished.  They finish with a 10-10-1 record, 2nd in BCL, 3rd Hoy tourney.  Tonight at the BCL Coaches meeting, the coaches will vote for the BCL All-League Team. Wish our players luck!!!!

The Eagles will say good-bye to two seniors this year; they are Christian Reyes (first baseman) and Mike Soudakoff (Short-stop & Center Fielder).

The Eagles Varsity Boys Baseball Coaching Staff would like to thank you for all your support throughout this season.
