Trenton, NJ. – Fanwood traveled to New Jersey School for the Deaf for the 2011 ESDAA Metro soccer tournament on October 21 & 22, 2011. After Lexington defeated American School for the Deaf 7-2. Fanwood boys Soccer began the game against New Jersey School for the Deaf which both team tied 1-1 in the past month.The weather began become bitter cold with 50 degree sunny afternoon. In the 25th minute one of Fanwood player fell in penalty area and was awarded penalty shot. Luis Sanchez scored first goal of the game. New jersey Colts had several opportunities but Tornadoes Jose Cervantes made excellent saves. At 61st minute Tornadoes’ Luis Sanchez dribbles past the defenders and made a shot and was deflected by one of Colts player to the goal. NYSD was leading 2-0 into in the final minutes of the game, NJSD Timothy Lowe scored a goal off the cross with a minute remaining. NJSD tired to pressure into the final minute but the Tornadoes protected until the game was over.

Saturday morning began with warmer and sunny weather into the Championship game between Fanwood Boys Soccer and undefeated Lexington School for the Deaf Boys Soccer team for the second straight years. One of most exciting game for both team after Fanwood lost to Lexington at their homecoming a week ago 0-3. We knew this game will be different and prepared well. Both teams started the game strong battle. Lexington had couples cross ball into the Tornadoes territory but the Tornadoes defense maintain well and prevent their quick scoring. Tornadoes Jose Cervantes made several excellent saves. After scoreless at the half, at the 4th minute into the second half Lexington’s Noel Carino scored a goal from a cross from his teammate. Blue Jays leading 1-0. After several questionnaire calls on both sides, once Luis Sanchez fell in the penalty area and was not called for penalty but the Tornadoes did not give up and continue focused and battled into the game. As the time ran out Fanwood team showed pride as they could play against strong Lexington team. In the award ceremony, Fanwood was a runner up and received the Sportsmanship award.
Congratulation to Lexington for their 4th straight Champions.

Tornadoes overwhelmed Soundview 7-1
White plains NY, Fanwood return in home game action against Soundview. Fanwood were able to pressure on their territory in the first 15 minutes. Luis Sanchez scored first goal in the 7th minute, Juan Sosa scored off header in 13th minute from Luis Sanchez. The next 5 goals came from different players, Dennis Williams, Sebestian Rodriguez, Justin Geczi, Juan Sosa (2) and Luis Sanchez (2).
Agron Deski had 2 saves for the Tornadoes.
