1st Season Finale for MSSD Girls Soccer

Our last league game was against Rockbridge Academy. The other team scored three goals at the first half. Our goalie Katherine Rickey had seven saves, and at the second half, Rickey moved to forward and Kate Brown moved to goalie.  Rickey scored a lone goal with an assist from Jackelin Choque. We lost 1-5.

The first playoffs game for us was against Washington Christian. Katherine Rickey had her chance to score by penalty kick but their goalie made a nice save. Lori Edred made a nice shot, but the ball hit the post. Kate Brown had eleven saves. We lost 0-10.

We played against Field school. We had high possession on the offense, but we could not score at the first half. The opponent scored one at the fast break. At the second half, we scored one goal by sophomore Jackelin Choque with an assist from junior Maggie Hangstorfer. The game was tied at 1-1.

Our last home game was against Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School. We had the higher possession on the offense and we scored two goals but the opponent caught up and scored two at the first half as well. At the second half, we had an opportunity with a penalty kick but missed. We had our opportunity to score more goals, but could not make to in the net. The game was tied at 2-2. Sophomore Jackelin Choque had one goal and an assist. Junior Lori Eldred had a goal, and sophomore Mary Ann Gardner had one assist.

The season is over with two straight ties. I am looking forward for the next season.
