      USADTF update and top performers

      Dear Track & Field fans

Currently, 7 coaches and 28 athletes are underway in Indianapolis for Training Camp held at Indiana School for the Deaf. If you happen to be in the area, please give them good ole USA cheer. They all will depart for home on Sunday, 10 July.

Our Records Keeper, Karen (Keane) Sanfacon, has been working very hard to have all the records updated. Most of the performance records need to be accurate as much as possible such as exact 1/100 thsecond, full date, meet name, and meet location. Also, we have expanded from 12 to 18 different record categories for each gender! For example, we had 1 category for indoor record, now, we have 5.

Please see the progress on our website - www.usadtf.org/records

Note , this is still ongoing progress and things continue to update daily once Karen (Keane) finds accurate information. We plan to have this project to be completed by early next year before the outdoor track season begins. We will keep you informed once this completes.

Lastly, attached is the Top 10 – USA Deaflympians. Those names on the list were held during the Deaflympics only.   All times/distances were held accountable in all rounds such as Elimination, Preliminary, Semi-Finals, and Finals. Also, decathlon/heptathlon/pentathlon athletes performed in individual events will be recognized in the Top 10 list if available. For your convenience, we have decided to keep both metric and English distance in a precise format by using the inches in decimals instead of inches in fraction.

If you see incorrect information such as name spelling or performance data, please kindly do let us know. We will be happy to make corrections.

Our next Top 10 project is “Top 10 – All Time Performers” for our USA athletes. We hope to finish this by end of this year.

In case you may not know, ICSD have Athlete Search tool on their website. All former athletes who participated in the Deaflympics and/or World Championships events are now available. Check out all past athletes and their performance results (top 8 only) here - www.deaflympics.com/games/search.asp

      Enjoy!

      Best regards,
      USA Deaf Track & Field
