Fremont wins first-ever NCS championship in volleyball

Fremont 3 Mendocino 0 (25-14, 25-13, 25-14) - NCS Division 6 Championship

Fremont claimed its’ first ever North Coast Section (NCS) Division 6 volleyball championship with a sweep over #2 seed Mendocino last Saturday on their home court. This victory was doubly sweet for the victors as Fremont turned the table on Mendocino after the Eagles lost to them in the 2016 NCS championship game in straight sets.

Malia Zornoza had a triple-double leading Fremont with 15 digs, 11 assist, 10 digs, and three blocks. Jade Dawson passed out 24 assists with 13 digs and five aces.

Fremont now moves onto the NorCal Division VI playoffs as a #2 seed where they will host #7 seed Holy Names on Wednesday, November 15 at 7:00 p.m.
