Liberty's deaf wrestler Carlo Perugini almost at a loss for words after winning District 11 title despite torn ACL

Liberty HSCarlo Perugini got a text when he was on the sideline in street clothes during Liberty's Sept. 2 football game against Easton.

The senior, sidelined for a third consecutive year because of a torn ACL in his left knee, responded to Liberty wrestling coach Jody Karam's text that he was OK.

"I told him I wasn't going to let anything stop me from wrestling this year," Perugini said.
