This is Troy Truelove, a head coach for Indiana baseball and Shannon Smith is an assistant coach as well. I have a many very young team with some veterans coming back from last year squad (Kyle Bingham, Trevor Stonebaker, Travis Collette, Tony Long and Dylan Osbourne) showing some experience in high school level. The newcomers are Duke Smith, Kenny Long, Austin Phillips, Andrew Brown, Mitch Davis and Mitchell Slagle. Duke, Kenny and Austin have been playing baseball almost all their life. I am looking forward to a new challenge with my team and also very excited for this year squad. We have lost two key players in Tyler Crace who is currently playing for Gallaudet baseball team and Tony Dall which we surely missed their good leadership but I have a great leadership in Kyle Bingham and Trevor Stonebaker who will help lead the team to win some games this year.
We lost our first game to Lutheran, 17 to 1 last Tuesday. Even though, we may have a lot of inexperience players but I like what I see in our team and I have a good feeling that we will have bright future in them. I know they are looking forward to any challenge we will face in each game. Next game will be on April 15th and 16th for Hoy tournament.

Katzenbach Girls Track & Field
This is my third year coaching the NJSD/MKSD girls track team. My
assistant is Amy Lovett who is a great asset in helping with the girls.
The team has worked hard to improve themselves. We had competitive relay
teams with the help of Algebra Williams who would have been a senior this
year. Her home status was relocated and we lost her to a mainstream
program. We also lost our #1 shot put girl, Leah Murray, a senior, due to
personal reasons.
I do have some of my other girls returning to do individualized events or
helping out with relay teams like Judith Cantril, Claudia Giordano, Deanna
Phillips, Indira Marte, Indra Oseagulu, and Erin Gasque.
We have some new girls transferring over to Track because of the Softball
program folding. Other girls are joining for the first time that are
either curious to try this sport or they are new to join our school.
We are looking forward to a fun and good season, but are not sure what we
will achieve until all the girls try out their abilities and find the
event that they excel in for Track.

Maryland Softball
Defending national and Hoy champion, Maryland School for the Deaf will return 7 veterans to the 2011 softball team. We will have 7 new players on the team. Our 2010 record was 14-5 and we expect to remain competitive this year.
Veterans are seniors Christy Hediger and Claire Tucker, juniors Liv Polzin, Raquel Grindstaff and Heather Mansfield-Hom, sophomores Mia Goldberg, and Corbin Register.
The team will depend on Claire Tucker and Christy Hediger for leadership. Claire was 2010 NDIAA Player of Year and Christy was on first team all American team. Liv Polzin will be our ace pitcher and Mia Goldberg will back her up.
Maryland Track & Field
Maryland School for the Deaf track team will continue to be competitive this year. The girls’ team have won Berg/Seeger Classic twice in the last three years and ESDAA Championship the last 4 years. Versatile Claire Tucker won the Best All-Around Athlete award at the 2010 Berg/Seeger Classic. The boys’ team won ESDAA Championship 4 straight years. With all returning tracksters, we should be a balanced and competitive team. The 4x800 relay team (Kyle Tharpe, Gregg McConville, Jr., Todd Bonheyo and Jesse Steingieser) was ranked number one in the country among deaf schools last year with a time of 8:56.88. All of them will return and they hope to improve that time.

Boys:
Jesse Steingieser, Malik Morris, Zachary Israel, Gregg McConville, Jr., Todd Bonheyo, Kyle Tharpe, Shawn Harrington, Michael DeVito and Nerville Nde
Girls:
